Indie Read, a collaboration between Alex & Jordan was first conceptualized in December, 2007. Alex has had this idea brewing for over a year, so with the help of Jordan, the idea was refined and was transferred to the screen with Jordan’s amazing design skills.

This site is about the music, and nothing more. We will occasionally invite friends or even guest authors (you guys) to write a review on any particular album.

Our focus is a bit broad, considering that “indie” isn’t really a sound, but a  do-it-yourself/personalized mentality when creating music. We wanted a place where someone with an open taste in music could come and discover new bands and discuss the music in the comments without having to sift through a list á la last.fm.

The reviews are purposely given a more sort of colloquial feel rather than a professional one. I hate it when I read a review that feels like it was written by corporate nazis and journalists who are overly critical. The fact is, there is a listener for every song. Some will like a certain type of music, some will hate it. We are not professional reviewers, just music aficionados…
